Tillman honored by NFL as a Home Depot Neighborhood MVP
On Tuesday, October 7th Charles was honored for his commitment to the community by the NFL and the Home Depot Neighborhood MVP program. Over 250 volunteers gathered at Ardmore Elementary School in Addison as The Home Depot, organizers from the nonprofit KaBOOM! and members of the local community joined Charles in building an entire playground in just one day.
This community playground project will provide a safe and fun place for students to play while promoting positive and healthy lifestyles. The project will also provide a valuable opportunity for the school, the community and The Home Depot to work together to improve the lives of the more than 280 students who attend the school.
The playground build is part of The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP program that recognizes and celebrates NFL players for their commitment to giving back to their local communities. Tillman is one of 17 players selected league-wide for his work in creating the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation whose mission is to improve the lives of critically and chronically ill children throughout the Greater Chicago area.
The Home Depot developed the NFL Neighborhood MVP program as part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the communities its associates live and work in.
